Another Version

Dear Readers,

As a bonus to the west-coast, liberal elite video in my previous post, here is the original version of "The Saints Are Coming," by those west-coast, liberal elite, punk rockers, "The Skids."

Ted, I have a question.

My friend and I were members of this musical organization that has undergone a radical change in leadership. The new leader is an ex-Marine who currently serves part time in the National Guard.

My friend is angered by the fact that the director places "The Star Spangled Banner" at his concerts, whether or not they are patriotic-related (usually at a Christmas concert and at a spring wind concert). At a previous concert, he chose to cut two songs and leave the national anthem saying "there's always time for it." Anyway, he thinks it's very wrong. What do you think?

Oh, one more thing, we are both out of this organizaton, and the leadership change occurred after we left.

Nothing says Christmas like "The Star Spangled Banner." I think it was even playing in the manger when Joseph and Mary arrived. I think a Christmas concert should consist of the anthem, "God Bless America," and Toby Keith's, "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue!"

Are you say Francis Scott Key took a time machine back 1800 years and played the song when Jesus was being born?

Then again, it was based off an old drinking song, maybe Jesus was born near a bar and they were singing it there!

Jesus inspired the composers of our patriotic hymns. The two go hand-in-hand.
